WJC help Salford Reds
Instructors from Walkden Judo Club have been teaching judo and wrestling techniques to players from Salford City Reds, a bid to gain an advantage over their Super League rivals. The basic idea being that judo and wrestling techniques can be used when making tackles, to can help gain the precious few seconds needed for the defence to get back on-side.

Fourteen-year-olds Luke Grannell and Tom Scott both enjoyed gold medal glory, 15-year-old Andrew Lindley and nine-year-old Connor Wallace won silver medals and bronze medals went to 12-year-old Ryan Kay, 11-year-old James Grannell, nine-year-old Kaitland Kay plus eight-year-olds Thomas Barlow and Alex Kinsella. And the medal successes came after all nine of them had passed Walkden Judo Club’s first ever British Judo Association grading event.
