Supporting the Club..
Unlike some of our competitors, Walkden Judo Club is a non-profit making venture run by volunteers with a passion for the sport. Our aim is to make Judo accessible and affordable to anyone who wants to become involved, irrespective of their age or background.
With that in mind, we try our best to keep costs and membership subscriptions as low as possible but, as we are completely independent (that is, not linked to a church or school) we do have the unavoidable costs of running the Club premises, maintaining equipment and, from time-to-time, the expenses of bringing-in specialist coaches. Where we can, we subsidise the running of the Club by making use of grants, and of the generosity of individuals and local companies.
Naturally we are always looking at ways in which we can work in partnership with local companies to help further the aims of the Club, and we would welcome hearing from you if you feel that this is something you might like to do. This needn't involve a great outlay of money and, for example, a few tens of pounds could:
- Put an advert for your company's goods & services on this website.
- Sponsor trophies for a Club competition that could bear your company's name for many years to come.
- Sponsor an 'Outreach' Judo demonstration afternoon at a local school.
We're pretty sure that, no matter what size of budget you have in mind, we'll find a way of working together in promoting in the community both Judo and your business.
